Oh, god, please tell me you're not going to get into Supernatural. I don't think I could handle one more person on my friends list being into that show. I mean, of course I would forgive you, but I would be sad.
Um, I've only seen two episodes--the pilot and the one with Callum. I was deeply, deeply unimpressed. People tell me it got better. I'm not sure I believe them. Of course, a lot of my unhappiness with the way it's eaten fandom has to do with three things: a) the main fannish pairing is incest--yuck; b) the second fannish pairing is RPS with two actors who do nothing for me; c) the episodes I've seen (and from what I hear, this does continue, although it has possibly improved a little bit in the current season) were not only badly written dreck, they also had the complete lack of interesting female characters you mention. Oh, and d) I didn't find the premise at all interesting compared to, say, Buffy, Angel, and X files.
