Well, I think it kinda suffered from being one of those hurt/hurt stories! Nothing good would ever happen to Mulder and his whole life had been fucked up! He couldn't even enjoy ice cream (because of the vomiting) or baseball (because of the, I don't know, psychotic flashbacks) or porn (because it was all a pretense to cover up his fucked-upness). Which, over 1000K? Kinda trumps the gritty banter and crime scenes, at least for me! Even without the vomiting.
