Mmmm, Clark and Lex. Nummy.

Plot, shmot. Blah blah red kryptonite (different explanation, though: in the comics, Red K had either a physical or mental affect, did just one thing, and then wore off in a couple days) blah. "Bad to the Bone" shoulda been the theme song.

So in the beginning of the episode we get an idea of Clark's facial expression and posture when using his x-ray vision. I swear (and all of the folks at our Buffy night agree with me) that he has a very similar expression on his face when he's checking out Lex's ass as Lex walk out at the end of the whole penthouse conversation.

Also: massive checking out when Lex first sees Clark in that suit.

Lana is less annoying, and sometimes even makes sense, but I still don't like her. Her makeup is better, but she's still not Worthy of Chloe, femmeslashy implications to the contrary. She's showing more potential, though, since she hasn't mentioned her parents since 2.01. And she's grown an actual spine when no one was looking; she actually stood up for herself.

Oh, and Pete had lines! Multiple! Maybe it's a trend!

All in all, one of the most ho!yay eps recently. I think it probably has to do with, y'know, letting Clark and Lex be in a scene together. Just maybe.

I swear, we are getting handed the slash on a platter here. In my other fandoms, we had to slog six miles through the snow, uphill, both ways for scenes that we get nearly every frigging week on SV. Not that I'm complaining about the SV state of affairs, but sometimes I miss the more ... subtle touch you get when your characters have a less obviously slashy relationship.

On the other hand, Michael Rosenbaum. Eyefucks. Can't go wrong there.
