I suspect that they haven't even read what other people say about us -- like, this is research that hasn't discovered Henry Jenkins yet.

A comment ... somewhere, possibly on this post even ... indicated that they'd heard of [community profile] metafandom, because they asked to be promoted there. SERIOUSLY. But they clearly didn't read any of it.
