I could never get into the Dol Bonner one (boring) or Red Threads (even more boring), although I didn't read both of them all the way through, but I have a shameful and rarely spoken-of fascination with The President Vanishes.
I've reread it. Multiple times. And by "multiple" I mean "probably approaching ten." Really. *ashamed*
But it's got a Stoutian plot, with a very Archie-like lead. And... actually I don't know why I like it. But I do. (Very embarrassing, given the plot. If I wanted to read that sort of thing, I could pull out the Eric Ambler and really give it a go. Conspiracies! Hidden agendas! No-one knows the truth! Oy.)
