Okay, I am posting way too much today, but ... I can't leave this transcript of an Ann Coulter interview alone.

Ms. COULTER: I think that sort of rampant promiscuity does show some level of latent homosexuality.
DEUTSCH: OK, I think you need to say that again. That Bill Clinton, you think on some level, has — is a latent homosexual, is that what you’re saying?
Ms. COULTER: Yeah. I mean, not sort of just completely anonymous — I don’t know if you read the Starr report, the rest of us were glued to it, I have many passages memorized. No, there was more plot and dialogue in a porno movie.

And it gets weirder! Again c&ped: "Ms. COULTER: No. I think anyone with that level of promiscuity where, you know, you — I mean, he didn’t know Monica’s name until their sixth sexual encounter. There is something that is — that is of the bathhouse about that." It's all so mind-boggling that I could have easily cut and pasted the whole darn thing here. I mean! Ann Coulter's assertion that promiscuity = "obsession with your own — with your own essence" and is "reminiscent of a bathhouse."

Go read it and stare in astonishment. (Watch out for the comments, though, as there are a number of sex and sexuality-based ad hominem attacks on Ann Coulter. I mean, she makes no sense, and I call her stuff bullshit all the time, but some of the comments contain content that I find pretty darn offensive.)

*dies laughing* Ann Coulter cracks my shit up. She says/writes the strangest things. I occasionally think that she must be either a closet Liberal trying to make Conservatives look nutzoid by association, or a clever Conservative tool designed to trap everyone in morbid fascination while they quietly take over the world unnoticed. I mean, not really, just, she's just so impossible to fathom in her bizarreness that it seems like the explanation for her should be equally bizarre.

Right, exactly! Because she applies "logic" in ways so brain-bending that I find it hard to believe that she believes what she says. I mean, there she is, all the time:
Calling the Democratic National Convention the "Spawn of Satan convention;"
Saying liberals are "trying to fake a belief in God;"
Letting us know that "the safest place for Osama bin Laden isn't in Afghanistan or Pakistan; it's in The New York Times building;"
Claiming that liberals "encourage every form of polymorphous perversity, which, by the way, does have public health consequences -- but no, no, no, no. That -- that -- you know, anal sex and fisting, that's part of our deepest privacy rights;"
Writing "I prefer a firing squad [for NYTimes executive editor Keller], but I'm open to a debate on the method of execution."

And every time, I stand there with my mouth gaping open. How can she possible believe that? Liberals think fisting is one of our deepest privacy rights? Who huh what now?

OTOH, she's right: it gets her tons of media attention. And it means that I can't just dismiss her as a total fruitcake, because she does get media attention, and because people actually believe her.

(I include, as a postscript, one of my favorite Ann Coulter quotes ever: "You have a debate with the most Bible-thumping, fundamentalist, born-again Jesus freak Christian, i.e., someone like myself, about anything. Darwinism, gay marriage, abortion. Anything. You'll have a perfectly pleasant argument. Try talking with a liberal about a lit cigarette in a nonsmoking section, if you want to see fanaticism.")

I, for one, *do* believe that fisting is one of my deepest privacy rights. I mean, if Ann Coulter gets her way I guess I'll be forced to broadcast my personal fisting habits, in diary-like form:

Monday- only fisted twice today, but as I'm getting over that cold, perhaps I shouldn't expect to be totally up to my old fisting standard.

Tuesday- feeling much better, and boy, I have been fisting up a storm!

Wednesday- God, I haven't fisted *at all* today! What is wrong with me?? Of course, it is only noon, so maybe some new fisting opportunities will present themselves in the next couple of hours. We can only hope.

Also, it just occurred to me that the phrase "fisting is one of the deepest privacy rights" is unintentionally hilarious. *is twelve*
