I am looking for fannish pairings of the following sort:

A: Something canonical
B: An item or idea that is only connected to A via fandom

Where the A+B = instant recognition of a story or moment or vid or argument or other fannish totally cool thing. Like so:

A: Rodney McKay
B: Dolphin (the reference being cesperanza's "The Wheel, Atlantis, Wars, And So On")

A: Chaya
B: Jolene (the reference being z_rayne's vid Jolene)

A: Lex Luthor
B: Paper Doll (via astolat's story I can't remember the name of, with the ridiculous outfits and the taking over the universe and mutecornett making fantabulous paper dolls!)

or, I dunno. Inappropriate elves! Shacks!

But things like Draco Malfoy - Veela wouldn't work, because they're both from the same source, even if the connection between them is fannish and not canonical. Make sense?

I think "leather pants" would work for Draco, even if the reference is getting a little outdated.

man, I am experiencing this from the other side; I watched Star Wars in England and immediately wanted to reread the SGA Jedi AU fic; right now I'm watching The Red Violin, and feel the urge to reread the SGA, uh, violin AU fic. Things in real life unconnected to tv-canon that make me think of tv-fanon and therefore tv-canon.

I am ... okay, I'm being an even huger dork than usual. I want to make a Wikipedia Golf contest. Like I was talking about here.

But, hmmm. John Sheppard -> The Force could work.

And, yeah. I read Rolling Stone, I want to go find the SGA band!AU by Trin where John is completely screwed up and Rodney writes music. Or whatever. All roads lead to Stargate: Atlantis, some of them just take longer than others.
