top one hundred speculative fiction works: nominations update (again)
A couple people asked if they could have more nominations for less-represented media in the original nominations post, and I asked the rlist, who said sure, why not, so here's an official(?) notice about it:
You can have +5 additional nominations as long as they're for media that weren't nominated very frequently: music (songs, albums, filk, music videos, opera), fanworks (fanfic, fanvids, fanfilms, fanart), theater (plays, musicals, opera), poetry, games (video, rpg, card, board), short films, art (paintings, fanart, digital art), or any medium that's not currently represented on the spreadsheet at all or that has <20 nominations.
Here's the link to the nominations post again; you can reply to your original comment or post a new comment, whichever you find easier.
/end rlist spam, goes back to watching and listening to the things people have nominated

Just letting you know that the two are actually the same series.
Hope this is a help and not an annoyance.

And I'll go edit that!

I'll look for any more I can spot.
Maybe it would be a good idea to have both series names on that one. Like: The Middle Kingdoms (a.k.a. Tale of the Five)

Menolly Series = Harper Hall Trilogy by Anne McCaffrey - the two are the same.
Kairos Series = Wrinkle in Time series by Madeleine L'Engle. More people have probably heard of it as "Wrinkle in Time series" I own a bunch and have read all and "Kairos" took me a while to figure out.
"Red Mars" is the first book in the "Mars Series" by Kim Stanley Robinson
"The Hero and the Crown" is the first book in the "Damar Series" by Robin McKinley
There are probably more like those - you'll have to decide if you want to do anything.
Nina Kiriki Hoffman was spelled Nina Niriki Hoffman sometimes. Kiriki is the right spelling.
Madeleine L'Engle is spelled a few different ways. This is the right spelling.
Spock's World and The Rihannsu Series By Diane Duane are both Star Trek tie-ins
and there is an entry for "Star-Trek tie-ins" by Diane Duane.
So a heads-up on that. I don't think there's anything you to do with that. I think it's OK as is.

Re: Kairos, I thought about that, but someone specifically nominated "Kairos" - to me "A Wrinkle in Time series" means the four or five books that feature the Murrys, and Kairos includes the next generation books about Poly and Adam and etc. Other people may read those series names differently, though, I don't know - it's probably going to be confusing to some people either way.
I plan to add a space for "includes" in the spreadsheet and on the poll, though, which might be helpful in those cases!
