If you've got a laptop, maybe you can find better wifi..try the Freespot directory at http://www.wififreespot.com/ for something in your area. When the weather was unbearably hot and sticky, I had the fallback position of going to my local library or hanging out at Panera Bread, both of which have free wifi (once, I was trying to find an address when I had the laptop with me, and parked in front of a Panera to do a quick map check. Signal strength was great. I love living in science fiction!)
