Sooooo I finished my three Frontera Verde vids and decided I wanted to do something floofy as a last minute treat! I was considering several different treat options and I settled on the Great Canadian Baking Show.
I was making this vid for
thingswithwings but she ended up giving me the song for it - the song obviously needed to be Canadian, so I was listening to some Canadian music playlists and rejecting songs. I complained to twwings about how the playlist only had Great Big Sea songs about the end of the world and ghosts and stuff, and she was like wtf, you should vid Ordinary Day, it is so cheerful and it was on the radio constantly in the 90s. And then I listened to it and yup, there was my song!
I started clipping for this on Tuesday of go-live week and I thought "oh this'll be a speedy project" but it TURNS OUT clipping a baking show takes forever. I actually only made it through four episodes of season 2 (I skipped to find the good ones and hit the finale) and I still didn't put the first clip down on the timeline until 4 PM on Friday! So this vid doesn't fully represent the amazingness of TGCBS in all its glory, but it's still a good time and I'm glad I made it. I vidded the bridge first because it was obvious that the accordion bridge was for running around!
