I have a lot of work left to do, but that I can take this opportunity to reward myself with a pumpkin bar from Collegetown Bagels and a leisurely lie-about for forty-five minutes to watch Torchwood. With hot coffee! All stretched out on the sofa! And no more flash cards!

So, okay. This is one of those difficult plots, right? In order for this to work, Suzie has to make ridiculous quantities on contingency plans, which, just, no. Too bad, because it's an otherwise interesting episode, but the Emily Dickinson trigger? Yeah, that was just one little over-prepared step too many. (I mean, she would have had to set this all up before meeting Gwen, and she knew that no-one else in the office could use the glove, and why set up a work-around for being dead when she could've not killed herself, and, just. Oy. And then they hang a lantern on it by calling the amnesia drug "retcon," which, on the one hand, sense of humor; on the other hand, could we have a slightly less convoluted retcon, please?)

I hope we see the policewoman again, though, because she was great. (And also played by the same woman who played Jabe in "End of the World.") She had a sense of humor but helped out, and was willing to sit there reading Emily Dickinson all night after making Jack repeat himself for her coworker's benefit. (Though how everyone knew about Torchwood when Gwen didn't on the first ep... ah well. Perhaps many things blowing up have broken Torchwood's sorta-cover and now all the cops know about them. And that they have a base. Ah well, I've watched Farscape: *handwaves*)

Also, I am fully prepared for the onslaught of Jack/Ianto with stopwatch fic. There's probably been some already posted. (Man, go with the psychic, Jack/Ianto writers who wrote end-of-the-day-in-Jack's-office.) Also, I heart Ianto far more than anticipated. He's just so... competent! And besuited!

Also, randomly but in the spirit of the Wii release, I share this early Zelda commercial on youtube. Live action. With the dancing. And the funny outfits. And plastic villains. Yeah.
