Amused about fandom
Dec. 3rd, 2002 10:39 amI'm on my laptop, which has next to no music on it. And I wanted to listen to some good lesbian (or lesbian-icon) music.
I suddenly realized that all I had to do was listen to Smallville songvids. Melissa Etheridge, Poe, the Indigo Girls -- I've never seen a fandom with quite this much emphasis on female singer-songwriters before. Sure, there are the standard "I made this songvid because I really like the song" things as well, but man.
All it needs now is some Rebecca Riots (probably too floofy to really make good SV vids, not that that has ever stopped anyone before, but I probably wouldn't download or keep them) and some Tori Amos and I'd have a playlist set. Weird.
