Also occurred to me today. What I would love to see on Buffy this season:
Buffy and company take Spike to a therapist, who realizes he's having massive guilt reactions and hearing voices. He sometimes hears Buffy's voice when she's not really there, Spike says, and he can't tell the difference. Said therapist prescribes meds for Spike.
Spike, then, begins to get better, and he can tell the difference between Buffy's voice and not-Buffy's voice. He knows that there is a voice telling him things Buffy would never tell him; he knows that something wants him to do unpleasant things, but that it is not him and is not Buffy.
The meds work because his susceptibility to the Big Bad was partly due to his soul making him crazy-guilty. I take this from Willow and Buffy's easy acceptance that the Big Bad was not telling the truth, but trying to get inside of them and push their buttons.
Honestly, I just want to see a vamp on meds. Would rock my world.
That is all.
