Other thoughts: 1. Niki/Jessica (Heroes) & all the mirror glass between them? 2. I'm pretty sure there's a scene in Due South where Fraser & RayK are on opposite sides of a one-way mirror, and they come close to the glass & look at eachother...although I don't know how "longing" it is.
