Yes, this is my feeling -- but then people say "I only write best friends" and I go, these guys are best friends? or they say "I only write enemies" and I go, these guys are enemies?
(The second happens much more than the first, in my experience, as part of the disclaimer about why it's not a sign of culturally mediated race-based desire to write Shawn/Lassiter instead of Shawn/Gus, or Jack Carter/Nathan Stark instead of Jack Carter/Henry Deacon -- it's not racist, it's just that I only write enemies.)
