May. 5th, 2004 10:41 pmSeen today on the way home, a van with the logo of a construction company on the side: Alpha and Omega Construction. *blinkblink* Does that mean that first they build your new shed and then they tear it down and call down a hail and blood upon one third of it? Or maybe they boil a third of it in oceans of blood? (Revelations. Such a trip.)
Yesterday the servers at work got a "virus" (as IT reported it to us), but rumor quickly spread that it was the sasser worm, and that it was because the IT people working for the other company in the building, who run the servers, hadn't downloaded the critical updates. Whoops. (The IRS building I go past on the way to work was down Monday for the same reason, according to the people I take the bus with.) Ironically, despite the fact that having a terminal has meant that I have computer problems all the time when no-one else does, yesterday I had access and no-one else did. Because the terminal connects to a different server. Of course, this would have been better had I had anything to do, but as it was ... le sigh.
