Drive-by vid rec!

Dude, you guys, giandujakiss just posted an incredible Starsky and Hutch vid.

To "The Real Slim Shady." Which, okay, I know -- it sounds ridiculous, or if, like me, you can't stand Eminem, it sounds awful. But it is amazing, I promise. Just give it a try, and try to stick it out to the end, because I really do read this vid as about the buddy cop show as a genre and (as thingswithwings said when I emailed her) as doing incredible things with character tropes, both within and outside the show, so that at the end the real slim shady is ... well, just, watch the vid. Also, it manages to use Eminem in a way where I'm totally embarrassed by the thought that my neighbors think I listen to this music (see also: "Another Sunday," "Snakes on a Plane") but in this particular vid context, with this concept, it is AWESOME. I promise!

Also, it's technically amazing. Not just the cuts, but these amazing fades and erasures that play with the idea of the real slim shady. Or that's what I think. *nods*

I love that you are the person who sees "Starsky and Hutch" and "Eminem" in the same header and then CLICKS THE LINK. No, genuinely, I love it, because my life would be way more boring if you people didn't occasionally tell me when the risks were acceptable.

*g* I probably would have anyway, just out of horrified fascination, but actually in this case I have seen some of the vidder's other work. (Her Quantum Leap vid to American Music? OMG awesome!) So I was prepared to try to put aside my hatred. And also prepared to bail in case I was wrong, but! Awesome! *g*
