My heavens.
Jan. 24th, 2003 05:56 pmThrough random net surfing, I just discovered that Battlestar Galactica is available on DVD. I mean, folks weren't even sure about releasing Babylon 5 and it took ages.
Battlestar Galactica. Good heavens. I haven't seen that show in ages. Now I'm tempted to go rent the DVD -- it's full of excruciatingly bad dialogue, and plot holes you could drive a semi through, and ships ripped off from Star Wars, and extremely bad sci-fi "slang." I mean, they actually manage to use the same stock footage six or seven times an episode, sometimes. Nobody has a past. They wear these incredibly tight uniforms.
I remember when it used to be on the Sci-Fi channel, and was in rotation -- they'd do a couple months of Battlestar Galactica, and then a couple months of Buck Rogers. You could watch hilarious scifi for months. Look, humans on other planets! They're just like us, except with feathers on their heads! And small robots with Merrie Melodies voices!
Now the Sci-Fi channel appears to be showing Knight Rider as the bad scifi of choice. I find it too painful to be really funny. Give me the days of Battlestar Galactica.
