No no, it's impossible to be kinky without having everything in BLACK! Also, if you can't read white/coloured text on a black background, you can't be kinky. I don't know why you guys in kink bingo are so soft on that rule.
This is one of those things when makes me seethe. Evidently I'm old enough (with regards to internet usage) that I consider mucking about with things which have perfectly good defaults a gross violation of common courtesy.
I know that some folks prefer light-on-dark, and that it's easier for them to read, but I just cannot read it at all. And oh god, red text on textured black backgrounds? *zapzapzapzapzap* I spend a lot of time when I reading kink blogs zapping everything before I even know what I'm looking at!
Ah, for the good old days when you had to climb uphill in the winter without shoes in order to draw your internet up from the well but at least back then there was none of this new-fangled HTML-- there was only TXT!-- which means you could set your own browser defaults! And by 'browser' I mean we used lynx and liked it! Mmmhmmm, those were the good old days! /grumps :)
Oh, and utterly randomly, I thought I had saved this icon but either I didn't or I'll find it in an embarrassingly nonfannish location later-- but do you know where I might find the icon made from the softer world comic that goes something like 'they took me from my house and beat me, it was awesome, i can give you their card'?
Hee. Whereas my zap bookmarklet makes text grey on a black background. I know a lot of people dislike that, but I find it easier on my eyes! So yes, much love for all zap bookmarklets for everyone. :D
Yes! I love zap because it makes colors better for everyone!
I don't need black-on-white text (see: my current journal style), but I do need dark-on-light. Kink community blogs tend to be red on black, white on black, red on white, and I'm always going "aaaaah zap zap zap!" when I open new blogs :)
