Random Stuff
Jun. 11th, 2003 01:40 pmBuffy night last night featured pseudo-bruschetta with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, tomatoes, green onions, parsley, basil, and baked garlic. Mmmm, pseudo-bruschetta. I need to make me some more of that. The group here went through two whole loaves of sourdough. We didn't watch any Buffy, though, or I could dissect an earlier episode here.
Did pass out some of the stuff from the ABA. What I could find easily, anyway. I was very pleased when
antigone921 took the extra copy of The Joy of Gay Sex. I wish I'd had the author sign it to "slash lovers everywhere," but I didn't want to deal with explaining slash if he didn't know what it was. Also,
ryca borrowed my extra copy of the advance proof of The Amulet of Samarkand, and I'm planning on reading my own copy soon, so we'll see what people actually think of it. Reviewers have said that they expect it to be a blockbuster, like Harry Potter was -- young adult fiction that also appeals to adults. I mean, it's big. There was an actual, honest-to-god, bidding war over this book. So I want to see how it actually reads. The release date, btw, is next October. Yo,
mlechan, you've got to come over, 'cause I've got Ranma 1/2 and a volume filled with new manga for next year for you.
On a random note: even though I know the lyrics to Tori Amos' "Some Horses" include "I got me some horses to ride on," I always hear "I got me samosas to ride on." I have pondered the meaning of "samosas to ride on." Sounds very profound.
