One of the things [personal profile] thingswithwings and I are trying to do with the [community profile] kink_bingo wiki is to expand the fandoms, and more importantly the types of fandoms, that we depict in the images that accompany the text. The examples I come up with are almost always from my fannish history -- I can think of a Buffy example for anything -- and TVtropes is not always descriptive enough to be helpful.

So, in the interests of expanding the fandoms, I have some questions for you guys! I'd love to hear about examples from comics or live action tv or anime or movies or things you know I've seen or things you know I haven't seen. (Episode or issue names/numbers/plot summaries/some other way to find things would be helpful but isn't necessary.)

1. Animal-people! People who turn into animals, people who have animalistic features, people who wear animal outfits, people who act like animals a la Wolverine.

2. Bondage! Bondage is so easy to do that I always go "oh, whatever, any scene I've seen on tv," but really I ought to expand the fandoms. We'd love all kinds of bondage: straightjackets, handcuffs, chained up, complicated rope bondage, hogtied, tied to chairs, tied to someone else, anything.

3. Mind control! Or hypnosis or amnesia or anything similar.

4. Sensation play type stuff -- people brushed with needles or fur or enjoying their silk shirts or whatever. Or blindfolds! Blindfolds are good.

5. Anything that your fandom is really good at! Like, Star Trek TOS is hugely into mind control, and Veronica Mars is all over voyeurism, but I'd never have known that without watching those shows, so what am I missing from your favorite show?

BEING HUMAN! George is a werewolf (animal play--thinking especially of him growling throughout his first time with Nina in 1x03), heightened senses, scars, pain of transformation, chicken on a string, frequently running around naked and muddy in the woods and stealing clothes, locked in cages--he buys a custom fetish cage and gets free handcuffs in 2x04!! (this scene is goooolden), he loves cooking and speaks a half-dozen languages probably well enough to talk dirty (he also gives swearing lessons to ESL students, develops coprolalia and corrects graffiti in 2x04). I love his gnomey wallpaper. Ghost Annie is telekinetic, sort-of immaterial (she's "squishy" and cold and tingly to the touch, sometimes solid enough to interact with objects--she spanks George in 2x03--and sometimes ethereal enough to pass through them, depending on emotional state), so interesting sensation play/sensory deprivation potential there; in 2x04 she's able to use George's senses to taste. Invisibility is a boon to voyeurism. Mitchell the vampire gets frequently DRENCHED in blood (eg. 1x03 and 2x07, and 2x05 with "Venus in Furs" playing soundtrack!), his age sets up interesting dynamics like with his older/younger girlfriend Josie in 1x05-06 (and 2x05, tied to a bookcase), in 2x01 George calls him "deadly furniture", lack of reflection/film image (kill porn in 1x02-04), light sensitivity and low body temperature, can't cross thresholds without invitation, history of military service (uniforms & authority!), leather jacket and fingerless gloves (knitting kink!), hospital cleaner gets to mop up all sorts if interesting stuff.

Heroes--I've given up on new canon (they've given up on continuity and sense-making) but from the days before it completely tanked: lots of mind control (eg. Matt & other telepaths, Eden & Charles' persuasive voices, Rene-the-Haitian's memory erasure), lots of bondage (eg. telekinetic paralysis/restraint, handcuffs, people in cells), lots of sensation play (eg. people with heat, cold and electrical powers, rapid healing and the bit where Claire can't feel pain--there's a scene in late season three or so with Tracy chained in a heated cell to keep her from freezing her way out). Best thing of all: the scene in 1x18 where Mohinder ties super-hearing Sylar to a chair and tortures him with a tuning fork.

King Kong: 'nuff said.

Carnivale: strippers, psychics, a lizardman, a snake charmer, a sexy bossy bearded lady, an evil mind-controlling priest, many beautiful non-normatively-sexy characters and actors. Standout scenes: Justin getting his tree tattoo & Rita Sue kissing Jonesy's smashed knee.

Deadwood: Prostitution. Opium. Mud. Yummy yummy language. Calamity Jane and her bullwhip. Historical medical play, mmm. Awesome D/s dynamics all over the place. The scene in season two where Joanie tries to suss out Wolcott's kinks. Joanie bathing Jane in season three. Al's speech in 1x08 (I think--I have loaned out the DVDs) regarding kinky tricks, "something ya gotta know about specialists – they pay a premium, and they never cause fuckin’ trouble. Sometimes I imagine in my declining years runnin’ a small joint in Manchester, England, catering to specialists exclusive. And to let ‘em know they’re amongst their own, maybe I’ll operate from the corner, hanging upside down like a fuckin’ bat."

Battlestar Galactica: so much about uniforms, authority figures, robots and vehicles and personified/personalized machines. Bathtubs full of goo. Doppelgangers. Many characters handcuffed and kept in cages; drunk and drugged; sweaty and smelly; hearing phantom music and seeing people no one else can (eg. Head!Six compelling Baltar's speech and movement). Lots of breathplay (choking and asphyxiation due to air leaks etc.). Just ignore the last half-season (GNRGH SO MUCH FRUSTRATION).
