1. I have just rewatched "Interludes and Examinations," from B5 season 3. And I have only one thing to say about it: Kosh/Sheridan daddy!kink Y/Y? Wow, that scene in the hallway.

2. I followed a link to an Avatar story that I haven't started to read, because right at the top of the page I found this:

3. The thing about Dr. Laura's recent assholery -- short version: she said really racist things and is now threatening to leave radio to preserve her first amendment rights (both links are to critiques) -- is that I already have a song about Dr. Laura going off the air. Only that song dates to about 2001. And was about her departure from television.

I just ... there needed to be a separate font style for onomatopoeia? And also, there are already conventions for a lot of that.

OH, wait, I get it, it's like a key? To tell you what style is to indicate what? Why in god's name would you need a font style for onomatopoeia? I was completely confused, I thought maybe it was a warnings list!

Some of those are totally standard rules, though! Like, narrative is in the basic font style, check. It's just a really weird thing to spell out.

Sheesh. If formatting isn't obvious from context it's probably not good formatting...

Re Dr. Laura, I love people who whine about their "First Amendment rights" when what they really want is not just freedom of speech, but freedom to speak without anyone else speaking freely back.

But without a key, how would I ever be able to tell whether a character is thinking or yelling?

(Also, I note that "song lyrics" features on the list, which is a warning in itself.)
