From [livejournal.com profile] juniper200, an amazon.com meme.

Meme instructions:
1. Go to Amazon.com.
2. Sign in.
3. Go to your recommendations page. ("Hello, Your Name Here. Explore today's featured recommendations.")

Babylon 5 - The Gathering (Pilot) / In the Beginning
If I had more money, I would already own this. It would have been shipped to me the instant it came out. And so would the entire rest of the B5 series on DVD. Because. Word.

Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Ecstasy
Eh. I like Sarah McLachlan fine, but I don't need to own every CD. I wouldn't buy it for myself.

Terry Pratchett - Witches Abroad
Already own it. And it's kinda irritating, really, because no matter how many times I click "own it," amazon.com keeps kicking up Pterry recommendations of different editions. I initially thought that it was because I'd somehow missed a couple of the books when clicking "own it," but by this point... Dude, amazon? I OWN IT. I OWN IT SIX TIMES OVER. I AM ASHAMED OF HOW MANY COPIES I HAVE OF COLOR OF MAGIC, EVEN IF HALF OF THEM ARE CURRENTLY ON LOAN TO OTHER PEOPLE. a-hem.

For reference, the rest of the book recommendations run like this:
Already own:
Pyramids, Pratchett
Mort, Pratchett
Wyrd Sisters, Pratchett
Sourcery, Pratchett
Moving Pictures, Pratchett
Finder, Emma Bull. Admittedly this is the New And Sexy edition, but I've got the Old And Sexy edition with the star-field cover.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis. This is a "full color" edition. Like I care? I like my old paperback boxed set. With ridiculous cover art and lion in sky. So neener.
To Dream in the City of Sorrows, Kathryn Drennan. Because WWE 1+2! Because Marcus and Ivanova and Sinclair and because I'm a total geek.

Pondering:
The Mount, Carol Emshwiller. I love her short stories and novels, but I read the first couple pages of this one in a bookstore and didn't much like the style. So I dunno.
Sunshine, Robin McKinley. Loved Blue Sword and Hero and the Crown, generally "eh" about Beauty, kinda irritated by her Robin Hood novel. So I'm interested in reading it but not buying it.
Felted Knits, Beverly Galeskas. Felting in the washing machine requires color-fast yarn...

Eh:
Seabiscuit, Laura Hillenbrand.
An ungodly amount of Terry Goodkind for someone who's never read a single book and doesn't particularly care to.

Nope:
Weekend Knitting, Melanie Falick and Ericka McConnell. I understand the patterns are bad.
The Return of the King Visual Companion, Jude Fisher. I would want this why?

Back to the front page, where I find...
Bill Cosby, Himself
I would ... well, I wouldn't kill myself. But I would get very tetchy and immediately try to give it to someone else, if I could think of someone who thought that Bill Cosby was a) funny and b) not an ass.

Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 30 GB MP3 Player
Nope. I mean, I wouldn't say no, but... if I were buying, I'd get me a Rio Karma. Or maybe an iRiver, if I wanted voice recording, but the interface is crap. If someone else was buying? Oooooh, the new Cowon iAudio M3 is sexysexy. And you don't have to worry about breakage.

Really, I think one of the basic problems here is that I tend to use amazon.com to do Books In Print searches and powells.com to actually buy things I'm interested in. *g*

I've read three Terry Goodkinds and really enjoyed them. Started with "The Sword of Truth" and went with the two after that. I want to read the next ones, too, but I needed a brief break. Not high lit, but really good stuff overall.
